Kennebec House is a completely renovated older home,
located in the downtown area of Bar Harbor, Maine, on Kennebec Street, just off
Cottage Street and two blocks from Main Street. It has all modern conveniences
and is beautifully furnished on two floors. Kennebec house is rented by the
week as a single dwelling during the late spring, summer, and fall months and
sometimes is available for longer term rentals, from three to six months at a
time, during the winter months. There are no rental accommodations in Bar
Harbor closer to the center of town! Dogs are welcome.

- One block from the main downtown area with a multitude of shops and
restaurants

- Two blocks from a supermarket
- Close to movie theaters (just down the street from Bar Harbor's
celebrated art deco movie house and two blocks from Reel Pizza where you can
eat while you watch movies).
- 10 minutes driving time to Acadia National Park
- Two miles from the fast ferry to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia
- Just across the street from a DVD/VCR rental outlet
- Two blocks from the terminal of the Island Explorer, the Acadia free
shuttle that travels to many points of interest in the park and elsewhere.
All weekly rentals of Kennebec House include utilities, kitchen
equipment, cable TV, DVD/VCR, telephone, bedding and towels. (Telephone
provides local service only.)

Kennebec House is dog-friendly. You are welcome to bring one or
two small or medium-sized dogs. (But, sorry, no cats!)

Once on the island, dogs usually want to come back.
If you are already familiar with Bar Harbor and Acadia
National Park, there is no need to dwell on the incomparable beauty of the
island. But here are a few pictures to jog your memory and entice
newcomers.
